Recent storm snow in general here was 15-20cm. As we transitioned into previously wind-affected terrain above 1300m on E and NE aspects, wind-loaded rolls in the trees above 30 deg were reactive to skis on surface hoar (10mm). Most pockets that released were stubborn to trigger but the bigger ones had some energy once they popped. The surface hoar was buried up to 50cm deep in areas observed. Lots of cracking. We bailed as we reached higher, bigger slopes of consequence.
