Walk to Rockbound lake

Made an attempt at Helena Ridge East Peak, but didn't even get close. Ended up walking to Rockbound lake and then skiing home. The uptrack is set and it's decent, with some rocks out. The forest where you turn off the Rockbound lake trail was extremely low tide, maybe 10cm of snow. Didn't feel like getting hurt descending there later, so turned back. The alpine also looked quite dry. None of this is a surprise, still a nice walk in the forest. Also watch for the final rockband before the lake, treacherous skinning and skiing. Snow was unconsolidated with heavy ski penetration. Skies were in and out all day, with some trace flurries. -5ish at the lake, -2.5 at the car in the afternoon. Winds were calm, but could see them moving around at ridgetop.
