Commentaires
Big slide out of Seaton.
We found a size 3 natural wind slab avalanche out of north facing alpine terrain today and that set the tone for us. We suspect this was a cornice failure triggering wind slab and additionally stepping down to the Jan 26 crust/facet complex in numerous places. We suspect this ran on Saturday or Sunday.
We kept to simple low angle terrain and even in doing this we remote triggered a size 1.5 on a North aspect at tree line simply by driving the sled within 150m of the slope.
If this isn't enough warning we were also met with numerous loud whumpfs and propagating test results down 85 on the Jan 26th layer.
Keep it simple out there and enjoy the fresh snow in the meadows and low angle terrain while this weak layer shakes itself out.
