Commentaires
Went out exploring around Mt Murray today - started around 930 broke trail in very light snow from the parking lot. Stopped for lunch at the bottom of the basin then started climbing up the North facing slope being - near the top began (>35° slope) experiencing shoot crack and unsupported sections between switchbacks breaking but not sliding. Took this as a sign and moved to a safe spot and dig a pit to see how some layers are bonding. Snow depth at ~1800m was 1.05m. CT-28 @ 80cm. Fracture Type was Resitant Planar this is assumed to be the freeze crust described in the forecast. After this opted to ski low angle terrain as the 5-10cm of new snow was not stable enough in steeper terrain!
