Commentaires
Rode the south side of Elgood. Did not observe any signs of avalanche activity, nor any signs of snowpack instability. We were torn between the desire to head further west along the shoulder where the trees open up and the sweet promise of pow and faceshoots instinctively draws us, and stick to the east where denser trees offer greater protection. We skirted the line of denser trees and conservative decision-making. Two laps on lower angled terrain (30deg), as well as an encounter with a group of 5 skiers and a dog bombing down the run without any apparent sign of instability ultimately gave us the confidence to wander a tad further west, a decision which we did not regret. There seems to be some wind effect on the north side of the shoulder, based on limited observations made at the top only.
