At 2700m, probing 120cm on the glacier. Tapers quickly to 50cm with a rain crust / MFc down 30cm at 2200m. We got to the top of the glacier and ski'd down in boot top powder that was the easiest skiing I've had here in over a decade at this time of year. We roped up. This place use to have minimal exposed crevasses, but there are lots of holes visible these days. Had to cross a snow bridge and could find lots of slots, which are more then ankle breakers now. Big change from 10 or 15 years ago.
We also crossed 3 or so size 2 - 2.5 wet slab avalanches from the past week on our approach up the road to the glacier. Path length on these 200m+ and would have pushed any size car or truck off the road.
We skid from 2800m to 1800m.
Happy skiing, but the biking is still good.
