There was an inversion today with temperatures down low hovering around -20 °C , and up in the alpine around -10 °C. The wind was very light today, but the wind affected surfaces made for very challenging riding. The snow was a bit softer on south aspect around protected features, whereas the north is hard pressed and textured. The wind slab we found today was 10-20 centimeters deep and stubborn to sledder traffic in simple terrain.

At times your sled sits on top of the hard slab and at times your feet break through the soft slab. We lost our visibility around 2 pm, and witnessed a few light flurries.

Variable conditions out there for skiing and sledding, especially in low light.
