Jupiter Traverse

Good travel and ski conditions today on the Jupiter Traverse under clear skies and cool temps. Approximately 10cm dry unconsolidated surface snow on the glaciers bonding poorly to the hard surface below but not yet reactive to skier traffic. Perfect bucket step conditions on the ridge. Could not get a windslab to budge anywhere on our route today. Moderate planar compression test results down 60cm on decomposing fragments, maybe some graupel overlied by a one finger density slab in a test pit at the top of the Thorington Route, NE asp 2650m. Asulkan trail is holding up. No new avalanches observed. Widespread evidence of previous storm cycle all aspects in alpine to size 2.5. Large horizontal visor like cornices in the area, notably on Bonney. Early start and finish today.
