Commentaires
We found some nice skiing in the NRC area today! 15-20cm of dust over a thick, hard, wind-affected crust below.
Weather was overcast with snowfall increasing throughout the day to nearly 1cm per hour at 4PM. Wind was light from the South, and temps were quite warm.
We didn't see any whumphing, cracking, or other red flags; but the January persistent layers weren't hard to find. We dug a small test pit at 1680m straight above the NRC parking and could easily spot 2 layers of hoar crystals in the top 80cm. One layer was down 50cm with crystals around 5mm (Jan. 30?) and another at 55cm to 10mm (Jan. 17?).
CHT24 SP down 50 on SH, 5mm.
CTH24 RP down 55 on SH, 10mm.
