What's Happening?
Join us in-store from 11am - 4pm to learn a little bit about avalanche safety and what to plan for when travelling in avalanche terrain:
- Register for workshops hosted by Avalanche Canada. Workshops include 'Avalanche Basics' and 'Winter Hiking Safety' - SOLD OUT
- Visit the Avalanche Canada booth. Team members will be on-site to answer any questions (North Vancouver)
- Get information on Avalanche Skills Training from local organizations:
- Extremely Canadian (North Vancouver), Yamnuska Mountain Adventures (Calgary), Outdoor Centre, University of Calgary (Calgary)
- Product demos and brand pop-up from Mammut and more
- A chance to win some sweet prizes in the workshops

Workshop Details
Get yourself equipped for winter adventures with our ‘Know the snow’ workshops where you’ll learn about essential avalanche gear, hands-on training and interpreting forecasts. Please note, workshops are officially SOLD OUT for 2026!
Workshop #1 Avalanche Basics: Learn about essential equipment, understanding avalanche forecasts and what to look out for. Hosted from 12:00pm - 1:00pm
Workshop #2 Winter Hiking Safety: Learn how to safely enjoy your winter hikes, whether walking, running, micro-spiking or snowshoeing. These will be specific to the region. Hosted from 2:00pm - 3:00pm
