Avalanche Awareness Days is a celebration of our winter heritage, an opportunity to learn more about our winter environment, and a way to build awareness of backcountry safety. It is a grassroots event, where local organizations such as ski resorts, snowmobile clubs, BC Parks, Parks Canada, search and rescue groups, and others host avalanche awareness activities in their area.

Apex Ski Resort: Jan. 22, Avalanche Awareness Fundraiser
BC Parks - Sea to Sky: Jan. 15-16: Avalanche Awareness Days in Garibaldi Park., 10 am - 3 pm. Learn from your local rangers about safe travel in avalanche terrain, practice your companion rescue skills, check out a snow profile, and even have the chance to win some great prizes! Event will be at the Diamond Head trailhead/Red Heather warming hut in Garibaldi Provincial Park.
BC Parks - Mt. Seymour trailhead: Jan. 15-16, 10:30 am - 3 pm. Come chat with your local Rangers about Avalanches! Avalanche terrain identification, educational resources and knowledge testing will all be a part of the day! There will be prizes!! Bring your adventure buddies and come learn how to keep safe in avalanche terrain.
Fernie Alpine Resort: Jan. 18-23. Event details.
Fernie Snowmobile Association: Jan. 22. Event details.
Golden Snowmobile Club: Jan. 29-30. Quartz Creek, Jan. 29: Beacon Basin search and prizes. All areas (Quartz, Gorman, Silent (Jan. 29/30) - show proof of an AST course and you get $5 off your day pass.
