List of Recent Near Misses

We're compiling a list of recently triggered avalanches, many of them near misses where people were buried. This list will be updated as we receive additional reports.

Group of 5, 4 sleds buried (two fully, two partially) and two people (one partially, and one fully except for a few fingers). No avalanche transceivers.

Cariboos: Allen Creek

Two riders (snowboarders) triggered the east face of the Allen Hillclimb. No avalanche equipment. Both were almost fully buried. See MIN for more details.

One rider on the slope, but 5 people parked in what they thought was a safe spot were buried (3 partially, 2 fully). "This sucker ran far" filling a terrain trap and continuing. See MIN for more details.

Windy, snowpack tests confirmed instability down approx. 100cm, avalanche released close to the ground. See MIN for more details.
