The day was:

Another 20 cm of snow at GCP over the past 2 days. Dug a “No Excuse Block” (similar to a Rutsch block) on a 38 degree east aspect at 2200m. Got a failure 20 cm down on a deep knee bend (“3” result) , a failure 40 cm down on a small jump (a “4” result) and a failure 80 cm down (the Dec 16 rain crust) on a large jump (a “5” result). HS 170 cm. We skied well supported slopes up to 38 degrees, and a couple of short slopes 40+ degrees…nothing moved.
