Comments
Christmas came early this year today and it looks like it’s here to stay for a bit.
30-50cm of Storm snow is sitting on the Dec 15 rain crust.
Wind affected snow on south west aspects, mostly @TL and above.
Ski quality was excellent down to the car from the summit of the pass.
Skied trees, and the open cut block up to 40 degrees with only minor sluffing. No other signs of instability.
Snow felt right side up until about 1800m, with the density change from wind.
***Heads up, Highways decided to do a bombing mission on the Corbins pass slide paths with late notice after several parties had already started their day. It was posted late to DriveBC. Luckily others informed everyone on the way up. Something to consider if headed out that way. ***
