Comments
Toured up in the overlook bowl today and found soft snow (facets) on shady aspects and scary snow on solar aspects.
Soft wind slab on specific lee features from yesterday's SW wind, not reactive to skier traffic.
Mostly cloudy all day, snowing S-1 intermittently. Light SW winds.
Test profile @2400m, SSE aspect, 35 degree. 25cm 4F slab over the Jan 30th melt freeze crust.
ECTP8, 11 dn 25 on 1cm decomposing MFsc. Easy hand shear on same layer. Failing both above or below the crust.
Good skiing in the bowl proper and North facing couloir off of The Overlook.
Poor skiing on the practice slopes, very tracked out and sun affected.
