Comments

Any aspect of Wolf Peak at treeline that was exposed to sun in the past several days was unrideable. The southwesterly wind transported the new snow leaving little new snow and only pockets of powder on unbreakable crust . However, storm snow was building fast and the ride down to valley bottom was good in east facing open trees. Note: The snowpack coverage below 1600 meters is bleak throughout the West Kootenays. Hazards such as creeks, blow down and willows a big problem this winter at lower elevations.
