Comments
We travelled to de-rime the Summit weather station and found that the north winds have come back with a vengeance. Snow in sheltered and low angle terrain was still good, but gusts up to 50 km/hr have significantly altered the quality of the snowpack in the alpine and at tree line. We observed numerous shooting cracks on newly formed windslabs - up to 30cm deep - on south and southeast aspects.
