• 30cm + of new snow, or significant drifting, or rain in the last 48 hours.
• Whumpfing or drum-like sounds or shooting cracks.

Deep snow up in the backcountry around the Allison Pass region. Almost too deep today for turns on this little mountain. Easily 40+cms since precipitation began after the recent dry spell.

Day started at -14 at the car, weather was mix of sun and cloud through the day, some periodic light flurries in the afternoon as well.

Did hear a whumf near the summit as we made our first approach, but saw no other instability. Noticed a layer of Facets sitting beneath the new snow.
