Comments
I observed many recent loose wet and slab avalanches today while on a flight from the Elkford area to Cranbrook. Most activity was on East, South and West aspects with the slabs failing on persistent weak layers. Avalanche activity is likely to pick up on the shaded aspects in the coming days with continued high freezing levels and minimal overnight cooling forecasted for the next couple nights.
