Comments
Today we decided to avoid travelling in avalanche terrain and instead find a safe place to sit back and watch the action. We observed numerous wet loose avalanches in the Window Mountain area as well as a few slab avalanches up to size 2.5 on the ride out. The trail is still in great shape.
During the drive back to Fernie we saw numerous fresh slab avalanches in the Lizard Range. These avalanches were very large and had run far below treeline.
Today was a good day to enjoy the sun and non-avalanche terrain.
