Comments
Strong Northern and Southern winds observed above 2200m all day. Cracking extending >12m observed during uptrack on wind slab snow, both on N and S aspects. Audible and signifcant whoompf occured on West facing slope below skin track. Sz 1 Wind Slab triggered on North aspect of Thorington's, skier triggered, 6in penetration, 8m wide, 5 m runout. Small, but a sign of growing instabilities below wind affected aspects in the Alpine.
