Comments
We skied to the top of tree line (1400 m) in Powder Valley. There is significantly less snow there than the White Pass - max 85 cm in sheltered areas. The alpine is wind scoured, but treed areas between the upper exploration road at tree line and the creek are nicely filled in and gave us great turns. Ridges are scoured and travel would be rugged above this point. We didn't observe any avalanches, but planar and convex features above tree line would likely have windslab on most aspects.
