Comments

Skied the Bonnington Traverse Feb 19-23. Started with dry 30 cm fresh over supportive crust with the cooler temperatures of -10 to -13 C which made for nice skiing. Snowpack 235-270 cm 1800-1900 m SP results down 50, 65 and 90 cms. No sign of avi activity other than Loose dry on north aspect of Grassy Col. Lots of snowmobile high marking in area of Steed, Rush areas with no sign of avi results. Temperatures warmed up to near zero with Sunday night’s SW storm. 24 cm at 1900 m, moderate SW winds. Snow became heavy creating storm slab properties. Slow trail breaking. Creeks are running. You can ski from Bombi summit and all the way out Copper Mtn road.
