Comments
Great day in the highcountry. Quite the difference from yesterday. 24-30cms overnight and the farther back into the caribous you went the better the snow got. Numerous size 1 avalanches in steep lee terrain with wide propagation. Natural, remote and sled triggered. Suspect a break in the wind mid storm lead to very soft upper slab releasing within the most recent storm snow. We tested several steep convex northerly features at upper treeline/alpine and saw no other movement. Cornices growing large. Alpine temps -5. Stormy, foggy day but we got some great breaks in the weather. Ride safe.
