Rode purple bowl today. Snow was great for spring got some amazing turns in. The snowpack was very strong. To get that planar failure (30cm down), I had to use my shovel as a wedge after getting no results on a column test (mellow slope 30°). We took a poor route and skinned up the bowl (don't do this the route along wolverine ridge is much better). There were no issues or signs of instability. We also watched another group drop off the cornice without any problems, which was reassuring.
