Checked out McKendrick, was not disappointed!

Access is nice and easy from the 4 lakes parking spot.

Had a light breeze and sun on the way up, around -5⁰c at noon.

Went up the main avvy path in the picture, decided to top out just below treeline at 1400m due to snow quality changing from light powder on old debris/supportive crust to denser layered snow. Didn't want to venture further up, as the snow texture in the open spots at bottom of the couloirs looked like a freshly cross loaded slab.

Line had already cycled +48hrs ago, likely from a cornice fall from the ridge above.

Hand shears on the way up were inconclusive.

Ski quality was fantastic until around 1200m where the death cookies took over, ventured into the forest for the last leg of the descent and was rewarded with good turns in the denser old growth. Would not recommend skiing the bottom half of the avy path, powder gets thinner and the death cookies don't mess around.
