Comments

We went for a rip up Boulder today. We saw a lot of alpine terrain from a distance and didn't see any signs of recent avalanches, other than old, small wet loose debris on steep solar aspects.

There's a thick, supportive surface crust on all aspects to mountain tops where we travelled. Triggering avalanches is very unlikely when a supportive surface crust is present. The likelihood increases if daytime warming melts the crust. We call this spring diurnal conditions.

It was a beauty day for cruising around in the high country.
