Comments
Good day out skiing off blackcomb peak, ascending disease ridge. Summit has enough coverage to ski from the top. Up tracking was very difficult as the aspects facing the sun had a really hard crust and the skin tracks in place are iced over - probably a good time to bring the ski crampons. We exited via body bag bowl. There was some corn out there but mostly it was terrible crusty skiing until we got back to the groomers.
We will be watching to see how forecasted storm snow will bond to these surfaces before heading into avalanche terrain over the weekend.
