Comments
Skied up "Colleen Peak" yesterday. Was able to drive to 1300m, then skinned roads and cutblocks (poor coverage) to treeline at 1500m. Coverage improved by about 1650m where I found nice powder overlaying a generally firm base. In sheltered clearing near treeline, and in the cutblocks below, was a distinct surface hoar of about 1cm that could be problematic if buried. At ridgeline, HS seemed about 100-120cm, and the surface was wind affected where a southwesterly exposure was present. Decent riding back down. No signs of instability noted.
