Comments
Went for a walk up Copper Crown to the cut blocks. Significant settlement in the upper snowpack from previous warm temps has created a 30-35cm slab (F at the surface to 4F+ at the bottom of the slab) above a layer of Facets/surface hoar from late December I'm guessing (FC Sz. 6, SH Sz. 4). We triggered several Sr Sz. 1 avalanches below the road. As well we toe triggered multiple whumpfs causing wide spread settlements above the road.
Kept things quite mellow (<25 degree slopes). Dug a pit at the top of one of the cut blocks at 1775M (HS 87, ECTP 3 down 30). Still managed to get 3 schnoodly laps in the low angle areas before calling it a day.
