Comments
Small purposeful boarder triggered size 1 on the lower roll below 3rd knoll (Mary’s run??) while testing the waters on a short steep pitch. 70cm deep and 10 m wide ran on SH off a convex roll of short steep treed slope. There was another natural size 1 further towards north bowl on the same roll on an open slope that had run before Friday night’s new snow. Got good Views of the nearby alpine areas and didn’t see any major natural avalanche activity in alpine but decided to avoid it anyways today given the potential lurking layer and likely wind slabs.
Snow quality was excellent on sheltered terrain, but the sun/temps turned south facing Phayzurs into concrete mixer consistency (nearly all the way up to the bench below the dome) by the end of the day. Play safe out there with the lurking SH down low on sheltered terrrain.
