Comments
Skinned up Quatchka Peak (aka Matchlee N4) on ~30cm of really nice dry powder from valley bottom to the alpine. No avalanche activity observed today. There were signs of previous slides (sz 1) on steep north facing slopes. No surface hoar. No tree bombing above 800m. Minor wind loading on north slopes above 1350m. Snow was becoming moist below 800m on sun exposed slopes during our descent in the afternoon. 2cm of snow fell Friday night in the area.
Ucona Main was snow covered right from Gold River. And had up to 40cm of snow by 400m elevation.
