Comments
We headed over to Little Simpson Gully to take a look at the recent very large avalanche (size 3) that we suspect ran during the last storm. We dug into the fracture line to take a look at the failure plane which ended up being the early February crust/facet layer. The fracture line varied from about 40 cm deep to over two meters, which was likely due to wind loading. When touring back up towards the ski hill we felt and heard several large whumpfs in a shallow rocky area.
