Comments
After hunkering down through the storm last week, today we stepped out into some bigger avalanche terrain. We headed up to Mear Lake near Elkford where we didn't have any results of concern in our snow pit so we tested out some small features on our sleds before moving to bigger stuff. This area seems to have more snow than other areas in the South Rockies at the moment and the snow pack is adjusting well to the new load. Today we found generally safe conditions in sheltered areas and saw no recent avalanches.
