Comments
We choose to ride at Treeline due to low clouds and intermittent flurries limiting Alpine visibility. In the trees, we found 30 cm of new, soft snow over a 20 cm thick hard crust. That crust was well bonded to the snowpack so our primary avalanche concern remained the new snow, particularly where westerly winds were loading it onto steep slopes.
