Comments
We skied around brooks and Elma for a very pleasant first ski of the year. Noticed some surface hoar on sheltered NE aspects in the morning. There was a small cornice on the NE aspect of brooks. The biggest hazard was tree bombs, and by the afternoon the snow in the trees was melting with running water falling on us on the way out. No precipitation while we were out. There were some good turns to be had but the crusty refrozen tree bombs will impact ski quality until it snows again.
