Comments
Snow was hard and wind blown up top, softening as we dropped down into the trees. An approximately 1" crust exists between the 3 - 4" of fresh snow and the soft layers beneath. The avalanche slabs observed were rock hard and averaged 0.5m thick. Hill slid right to ground level on face.
