We trekked up the Trophy Meadows for a bit of a ski today. Lots of wind slab in open areas with good powder stashes to be found here and there. Skiing was ok with quite a bit of dust on crust in the alpine mixed alongside some powder and soft wind slabs.
We did a quick pit on our way out just to take a look. HS 155. ECTN27 down 45. And that was a reluctant fracture with no propagation. Some freeze thaw layers down 50 and 60. No big variances in snow temps down to 120 but I don't think there have been any big cold snaps lately. Some hoar frost on the surface in places but by no means did we see any large crystals forming at this time. Overall, a very solid and well consolidated snow pack from what we observed.
