Comments

Group of snowmobiles were riding in large bowls the north east of Mount Gerald . One rider climbed to near top and begun to side hill. As he was side hilling the snow broke over a rock face and began to slide. Rider was caught in the middle of the ensuing avalanche. He was able to ride part of it out, but fell off. He then deployed an avalanche bag. The snow stopped moving shortly after. The rider was buried to his chest but arms were still free. Legs and torso were trapped in snow and partially beneath snowmobile. Group members we were able to dig him out without further incident. No injuries to rider.
