Comments
COLD! Man....-21 in the alpine today...brrr. Winds sustained light to mod from the south west with significant drifting. VERY strong evidence of a massive windstorm last night in the alpine shralping some areas and burying others. Probably the most substantial wind affect I have seen all season. Thick windslabs have developed almost everywhere but the extreme lee and or protected areas. We saw a few cornice releases that triggered just surface slabs below and did not step down. No much else for activity. Easy sudden collapse results below the upper 1f windslab on a lee asp at 2100 meters. At this location Jan 05 surface hoar was 105cms down and none reactive to regular tests. New surface hoar growth in protected areas treeline and alp.
Busy weekend coming up. Ride safe.
