Comments
Spent 4 days at jumbo hut. 3.5m of snow at the hut, +4m in lee terrain.
Single whumpf on flat ground on first day, shooting cracks on wind loaded ridge feature, popped a small 5-10cm thick wind skin on solar aspect. ECTN16 @ 40cm on east facing slope at 2300m. Noted a layer of facets down 90cm but could not produce a failure.
Started mellow and stepped it up over the trip, no sluffing on steep terrain, no signs of naturals, no other instability noted. Snowed first day and lots of fresh from previous storm cycle, stayed cold, no sun affect. Rode N through SE aspects 2400-2000m. Avoided loaded alpine features.
