Climbing up to the glacier on Metal Dome and I had a large wumf go off under my feet and shoot out maybe 50ft. We immediately stopped climbing and found a safe spot. We dug a snow pit just to see how spooky this persistent layer is.
Snow pit at 1600m North aspect, alpine, with a slight wind affect on the 35 degree slope.
