Comments
Noticed a crust about 30cm thick 25-40 cm down depending on wind deposits. Snow seemed reasonably well bonded to it but failed on a layer of buried surface hoar about 20cm down.
Total snowpack near the lake at 700m varied between 255-275.
Snowpack depth rapidly dropped below 400m.
