The story of the day was soft snow in sheltered areas away from the wind with crust and drifts out in the open.

Ridge lines were stripped down to the crust in most areas leaving only a little snow for winds to blow around.

Sheltered gullies, meadows and trees still held 15-30 cm of softer snow, but the crust could be felt at the bottom.
