Comments
We rode Cleveland today, approaching via the southern trench. The day was clear and sunny. It was -2c at the road at 10:30 and +2c at the top when we dropped in at 3:30. The snow is heavily wind affected and, despite taking our time and then waiting at the top for a while to let the sun and warmth soften things, the riding up high was just terrible - the worst conditions I've seen in that zone. The views off the top were pretty great though. The snow softened near the bottom and on the ride out between Cleveland and Feather, and the ride back down through the trench was perfect corn. We observed a fairly large, fresh looking slide on the skin in; it looked like it was triggered by a partial cornice failure.
