Dug a snow pit just below the ridge at the margin of Freda Bowl. Total snow depth measured 90 cm of dense recent storm snow overlying a firm January rain crust and hard pack. Total depth 180cm

Compression Test (CT15) produced a sudden planar failure on the 5th elbow tap at 40 cm, down on a buried weak layer.

Snow was a bit heavy to ski. Coverage is still a bit thin in the denser trees. Open areas had good coverage.
