Comments
Jan 23-25 spent at Hišimy̓awiƛ. Much of the approach to the hut was hiked, especially through the old growth. In many locations rain runnels were visible.
Conditions were icy all over, and we skied areas in the sun. Surfaces were icy and firm, but some corn turns were found. Areas in which we bootpacked varied from getting a few inches into the snow to almost not leaving a mark. Lower down where the sun didn’t reach for as long was very icy and hard.
Snow depth overall looked quite low, with many rock outcrops visible.
