Comments
Full Pumpkin on Monday. Accessed via the drainage NE of Lipalian and exited via Boulder Pass.
Wind affect was as predicted - widespread with little apparent pattern or dominant directionality. Sastrugi skiing was found on Lipalian and Purple and strong winds persisted throughout the day. We avoided the appealing runs in the bowls to the east of the ridge over concerns of wind slabs.
Evidence of solar input on south slopes below Unity Pk including a new sz 0.5 wet sluff from rock outcrops above the skin track.
Excellent turns were found on the protected treed slopes east of Redoubt where the wind was (finally) nonexistent, but that's a long way to go for short runs..
Speedy egress via hard snow on the Skoki snowmobile track.
