Enjoy Canada's beautiful winter landscape and learn how to stay safe from avalanches. There are a variety of events happening across western Canada and Quebec. Check out an event near you!
- Alberta Parks, Winter Safety Day, Saturday, January 19. Canoe Meadows Day Use Area, 11 am - 3 pm. Free winter safety activities, information and food.
- Banff Centre, Avalanche Awareness Night, Jan. 19. Max Bell Auditorium. 3-4 short films, 3-4 avalanche safety professionals presenting, mini tradeshow with local retailers, guides.
- BC Parks, Red Heather Hut in Garibaldi Park, Jan. 18 & 19. 11 am: Fun activities include quizzes, transceiver challenges, and info on avalanche safety. Prizes to be won!
- David Thompson Snowmobile Riders, Jan. 25. Eckville, AB.
- Fernie Alpine Resort, Jan. 18 & 19. Rescue dog demos, snow pit demos and a charity fundraising auction.
- Fernie Snowmobile Association, Jan. 18. Avalanche awareness plus Snowmobile Demo Days bringing together four snowmobile manufacturers. Come on out for a fun day with other riders, local SAR team and the AvCan SoRo team.
