Forecast for Today - 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. PDT:

The ridge of high pressure will bring dry conditions over the Coast Mountains today.

Another low is approaching from the southwest and bringing increasing cloud cover for Vancouver Island in the afternoon. Freezing levels will rise to near 2,000 metres across the SW ranges and to near 1,500 metres across the NW ranges.

A transient ridge of high pressure will bring mainly dry conditions to all interior ranges. Patchy morning clouds will give way to sun midday but isolated to scattered cumulus and isolated towering cumulus clouds with isolated showers and flurries may redevelop in the afternoon over the southern half of the interior, particularly in the Columbias and Kootenays. Freezing levels will rise to 1,600 metres over the northern interior ranges and close to 2,000 metres across the southern interior ranges.

Period of light snow ending this afternoon. Snowfall accumulation 2 cm. 

Light to moderate southwesterly ridgetop winds. 

Forecast for Tonight - 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. PDT:

S.W. Ranges: Increasing cloudiness through the evening hours. Light precipitation will begin pass midnight. Freezing level should be around 1,000 to 1,500 metres. Moderate easterly ridgetop winds in the evening changing to strong southeast ridgetop winds pass midnight for South Coast, Cascade, and Vancouver Island Ranges. 

N.W. Ranges: Mainly clear in the evening hours, and increasing cloudiness pass midnight. Freezing level should be around 1,500 metres. 

Kootenay-Boundary, Purcell and Columbia Ranges: Increasing cloudiness through the evening hours. Light precipitation will begin pass midnight. Freezing level will start around 2,000 metres in the evening and fall to 1,000 to 1,500 metres in the second half of tonight.

Cariboo Ranges and North Rockies: Mainly clear for tonight.

Forecast for Monday - 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. PDT:

S.W. Ranges: Light amount of precipitation in the morning and becoming mix of sun and cloud in the afternoon. Slight risk of thunderstorm over Northshore Mountains. Moderate southeasterly ridgetop winds in the morning and diminishing to light towards noon. 

N.W. Ranges: Mainly clear in the morning. Increasing cloudiness in the afternoon as the upper low approaches. 

Kootenay-Boundary, Purcell and Columbia Ranges: Light amount of precipitation for Monday. Freezing level will start around 1,000 metres in the morning, and rising to 2,000 metres in the afternoon. Slight risk of thunderstorm over Kootenay-Boundary region on Monday afternoon.

Cariboo Ranges and North Rockies: Increasing cloudiness in the morning. Risk of AFL 500 to 1,500 metres for Raft Mountains and Sugarbowl Mountain in the morning.  Light amont precipitation will begin in the afternoon for Cariboo Ranges where North Rockies will remain dry for the day. 

Ridgetop winds light to moderate northerly

Unsettled conditions will remain for Tuesday and Wednesday bringing partly cloudy sky with chance of light precipitation across the coastal ranges.

Unsettled conditions will linger across the Interior Ranges for Tuesday and Wednesday bringing partly cloudy sky with chance of convective precipitations.

A weak trough of low pressure will give mainly cloudy skies and isolated flurries to the South Klondike Highway on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Ridgetop winds will be light northerly from Tuesday through Wednesday

Ridge of high pressure is building over the province today, expecting drying and clearing trend across.

Unsettled conditions will return to the province of B.C. on Monday as another low offshore approaches the south coast.
